APP PRIVACY
You Browser Privacy Policy
About this policy
Freeman Apps develops You Browser, an independent web browser for Android and Fire Tablet. This policy describes version 1.0.0 and the information handled by its browser features. Websites you visit have their own policies and terms.
Information on your device
Bookmarks, website groups and their titles and addresses, browsing history, home shortcuts, browser settings, download identifiers and file names, and saved tab addresses are stored locally to provide browser features. URLs may contain search terms or private page identifiers. The system WebView also manages website cookies, cache, and website storage.
The app has no developer-operated account, cloud sync service, app analytics SDK, or app advertising SDK. It does not upload your bookmark list or browsing-history list to a developer-operated server. Website requests and support email described below still leave your device.
Websites, search, and sign-in
Opening a website connects your device to that website and its resources. Those services may receive your IP address, User-Agent, requested URL, cookies, account details you submit, and activity. They may show advertisements and use their own analytics. The app does not control those services.
The default startup destination is YouTube, which you can change. Home shortcuts include YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Twitch, and TED; opening a shortcut sends requests to that site. Merely displaying the browser home does not preload these websites.
Search terms are sent to the selected search engine: DuckDuckGo by default, or Google or Bing if you choose them. Website login information you enter is submitted to that website through the system WebView. You Browser does not operate a separate password-management service.
Files and sharing
On Android 5.0 and later, websites can request a file using the system picker. Only the files you select are provided to the requesting website. Canceling the picker supplies no files. The app does not request native camera, microphone, location, or broad shared-storage access.
After confirmation, public HTTP/HTTPS file links can be passed to the system download service with their URL and selected User-Agent. Browser account cookies are not copied to the downloader. Download files are stored in the app-specific external-files directory. The app stores download identifiers and file names for management.
Sharing a page sends its address to an app you select. Opening or sharing a downloaded file grants temporary read access to that file. The selected receiving app handles the shared information under its own policy. You Browser does not provide YouTube video extraction, streaming downloads, or audio conversion.
Your choices, retention, and deletion
Local browser metadata remains on the device until removed through browser controls, replaced within the app’s storage limits, cleared through system app settings, or removed on uninstall. Website cookies and cache follow system WebView and website behavior and can be cleared through the browser. This build disables app-data backup.
Menu → Settings → Privacy & data → Clear browsing data can clear history and saved tabs, cookies and website storage, or cache. Cleanup closes open tabs; removing cookies signs you out. Bookmarks and saved website groups are retained and can be removed separately. Clearing history, cookies, or cache does not delete downloads or download records; manage those in Downloads. Uninstalling normally removes app-specific downloaded files.
Disabling history recording only stops new history entries; it does not isolate cookies or saved sessions and is not an incognito mode. Recently closed tab addresses remain in memory during the current activity session for reopening; clearing history or browsing data clears that recovery list. Clearing local data does not remove information already held by a website or close your website account.
Children and family use
You Browser can open general web content, including content that may be unsuitable for children. This version does not provide an age-based content filter, parental PIN, website allowlist, or viewing timer, and does not create a supervised child profile. Signing in with an adult account does not automatically restrict content for a child.
Parents should review the device controls and the age requirements, account supervision options, and data practices of websites their children use. Websites can process information from visitors under their own policies. Contact Freeman Apps for help clearing app-local data or for app-related privacy questions; contact the relevant website about information it holds.
Security
The app uses the system WebView and cancels requests when it reports certificate errors. HTTPS connections are encrypted in transit; HTTP connections are not encrypted. Security also depends on the device, system updates, websites, and network. No transmission or storage method is guaranteed completely secure.
Support messages and contact
If you email support, your email provider and ours process the message and sender details. Freeman Apps uses the information you send to respond to your support or privacy request. Please avoid sending passwords, verification codes, payment information, or private website URLs. Contact the same address to ask about a message you previously sent.
We will update this page when the app’s information practices change. The date at the top identifies the policy revision. Contact: zane9981@gmail.com.
